My first Indie Yarn from Botanical Fibres

My first Indie Yarn from Botanical Fibres

Jennifer K. Hanrahan

Why Indie Yarn?

How I love working with local indie yarn! For years now I have nurtured a deep passion for local yarn. Every time I visit a yarn store I always ask about local yarn artisans. I'm always please with the results and working with local yarn is pure pleasure. I first saw Botanical yarn a couple of years ago and was immediately drawn to the softness of colour, and the luxurious feel. This yarn will knit up perfectly a pair of comfy sock with (80%) Australian Superwash Merino & (20%) Nylon. I'm an avid shawl, cowl & wrap knitter so when I see these colours I see a multitude of possibilities.

Botanical Fibres

This is their (Northern Collection Sock), made in New Brunswick, Canada.

From left to right:

Harbour Mist, Hint of Indigo, Sepia, Heirloom Red, Amelia's Pink, Tart, Golden Harvest, Forest Floor, Slate & Amethyst.

Truly beautiful yarn to knit/crochet with & colours that remind me of Atlantic Canada. From the forests to the Atlantic ocean and all the wild flowers that cover ever available space.
