The Community of Kollage Square
These are not just beautiful needles & hooks, they also are intricately apart of a larger community. They started 45 years ago with a mission to meet the communities needs concerning employment for people who face barrier. They started as a grass roots movement with families who had disabled children. This idea bloomed into a Non Profit organization that provided career services with skill development and work placement. All funds go back into the organization to continue their work in this community. And, to think they used their skills, and creativity through their love of knitting and crocheting to help their children.
How I found them!
On my quest for finding locally made needles early in 2020 I ran across this company. I tucked them away in my mind for the future of a business idea that was starting to develop and in the summer of 2021 I started down the road of entrepreneurship and an online yarn store. These needles are not only made in North America but they also benefit the community in a unique way. These two things are very important to me. I wanted to support locally made and in doing so I found a community that met challenges in an amazing creative way.
